Ingredients

The chicken wings

  • 2 pounds chicken wings

The seasoning

  • 2-3 teaspoons Chicken Seasoning or BBQ Seasoning or rub
  • to taste salt
  • to taste pepper
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder

The sauce

  • ½ cup BBQ sauce
  • ¼ cup maple syrup

The cooking oil

  • 1 tablespoon cooking oil (olive oil recommended)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees.
  2. Season the chicken wings with the rub, salt, and pepper, then sprinkle the baking powder evenly.
  3. Line a sheet pan with parchment paper and add the wings.
  4. Bake for 20 minutes, then flip the wings and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes.
  5. Mix the maple syrup and BBQ sauce in a bowl.
  6. Remove the chicken from the oven and place it in a large bowl, drizzling the maple BBQ sauce over it.
  7. Place the coated chicken back onto the sheet pan and bake for an additional 5 minutes until fully cooked.
  8. For air fryer method, season the wings and coat with baking powder, then spray the air fryer basket with oil.
  9. Cook in the air fryer at 320 degrees for 10 minutes, flip, then cook for another 5 minutes at 400 degrees.
  10. Drizzle with maple BBQ sauce and cook for an additional 5 minutes in the air fryer.
