Ingredients

The cheese mixture

  • 2 packages (8-ounce) reduced-fat cream cheese at room temperature
  • cup strawberry preserves
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ¼ teaspoon kosher salt
  • 6–10 dashes hot sauce
  • 1 cup freshly shredded extra-sharp cheddar cheese

The coating

  • 1 cup raw pecan pieces
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley

For serving

  • as needed Crackers or baguette slices

Instructions

  1. Beat the cream cheese and strawberry preserves until smooth.
  2. Mix in garlic powder, salt, hot sauce, and cheddar cheese.
  3. Shape the mixture into a ball using plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.
  4. Toast the pecans in the oven until fragrant, then chop and let cool.
  5. Coat the cheese ball with the chopped pecans and parsley before serving with crackers.
