The chocolate layer

Instructions
- Melt the butter and chopped chocolate together, then let cool slightly.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (177°C) and prepare a baking pan with parchment paper.
- Whisk the sugars into the cooled chocolate mixture, then add eggs and vanilla, mixing until smooth.
- Fold in salt, flour, and cocoa powder, then pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 35-36 minutes.
- Allow the brownies to cool completely in the pan.
- For the mint frosting, beat butter until smooth, then add confectioners’ sugar and milk, mixing until creamy.
- Add peppermint extract and food coloring, then frost the cooled brownies and refrigerate to set.
- For the chocolate layer, melt butter and chocolate chips together, then pour over the mint frosting and spread evenly.
- Chill the brownies again until the chocolate layer is set, then cut into squares.
