Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (177°C) and grease a 9×13-inch pan.
- Whisk together the dry ingredients in a large bowl and set aside.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the wet ingredients and then combine with the dry ingredients.
- Fold in the shredded apple and spread the batter into the prepared pan.
- Bake for 45-50 minutes, checking for doneness with a toothpick.
- Allow the cake to cool completely on a wire rack.
- Prepare the cream cheese frosting by beating the cream cheese and butter until smooth, then adding the sugar, vanilla, and salt.
- Spread the frosting on the cooled cake and refrigerate for 30 minutes before serving.
