Ingredients

Donut Holes

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 3 teaspoons baking powder
  • ¾ teaspoon salt
  • ½-1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • ¾ cup whole milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • oil for frying

Donut Glaze

  • ½ cup powdered sugar
  • 3 tablespoons whole milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Cinnamon Sugar

  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Mix the dry ingredients in a medium bowl.
  2. In another bowl, combine the wet ingredients and melted butter.
  3. Combine the dry and wet ingredients until fully incorporated.
  4. Heat oil in a pot to 375°F (175°C).
  5. Fry spoonfuls of dough in batches until golden brown on both sides.
  6. Drain the fried donut holes on paper towels.
  7. Prepare the glaze by whisking powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla until smooth.
  8. Glaze the donut holes or roll them in cinnamon sugar while warm.
