Ingredients

The base

  • 6 large eggs
  • ¾ cup half and half
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon sea salt
  • 1 loaf bread (sliced 1-inch thick)
  • butter to taste for cooking

Toppings

  • to taste maple syrup or honey
  • to taste yogurt
  • to taste powdered sugar
  • to taste whipped cream
  • to taste blueberry or strawberry compote and/or berries

Instructions

  1. Whisk together eggs, half and half, brown sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and salt in a large measuring cup.
  2. Arrange bread slices in a shallow dish and pour the egg mixture over them, ensuring they are well moistened.
  3. Let the bread soak for about 15 minutes.
  4. Preheat the Blackstone grill to moderate-low heat (approximately 325°F).
  5. Melt butter on the griddle and place the soaked bread slices on it.
  6. Cook the bread until golden brown, about 2 to 3 minutes per side.
