Ingredients

  • 1 lb extra-firm tofu, pressed
  • 1 cup Frank's Red Hot
  • ¼ cup deodorized coconut oil
  • 1 tbsp creamy cashew butter
  • 1 tbsp nutritional yeast
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp sriracha
  • 1 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1 tsp ground chipotle

Instructions

  1. Press the tofu for 1 hour to release excess liquid.
  2. Simmer Frank's Red Hot, coconut oil, cashew butter, nutritional yeast, and garlic while whisking, then remove from heat and stir in sriracha, cayenne pepper, and chipotle powder.
  3. Cut the pressed tofu into 8 long strips and place them in a baking dish, pouring the buffalo sauce over them and ensuring they are fully coated.
  4. Marinate the tofu in the sauce for at least 4 hours or overnight.
  5. Prepare the grill by lightly oiling the grates and heating to medium-high.
  6. Grill the tofu strips for about 2 minutes on each side until grill marks appear, brushing with more buffalo sauce as needed, for a total cooking time of about 20 minutes.
  7. Let the grilled tofu cool slightly before threading onto wooden skewers.
  8. Serve with fresh crudités and a spicy dipping sauce if desired.
